Eco friendly products are becoming a huge part of our world although many are not what they claim. In the petroleum case by virtue of what it is, any product with petroleum in it is not eco friendly. With that said, most cleaners used to break down petroleum products are not eco friendly either.
Most of us have heard that there are naturally existing organisms that feed on petroleum. We refer to these as enzymes and microbes. In many cases the microbes actually create the enzymes as part of their process in digesting the unwanted substances we are trying to clean.
Petro Buster is in fact one of those formulas that has 50 billion microbes per litre. The formula has been certified in the past by EcoLogo UL through Novozymes Biologics. This environmental certification is very hard to obtain without strict verification that the product is in fact safe for the environment and does what it claims to do.
Our formula was originally designed to clean Oil that was in ballast water at a railway station in the United States. In the 1980’s the EPA came after that railway company and told them they had to clean it up. They hired Novozymes Biologics to develop and Eco friendly product that would break down the oil completely in an environmentally friendly way and in a way that the EPA would be satisfied with.
We took an industrial strength Eco Friendly Soap and added Microbes that were patented by a scientist who altered a naturally occurring microbe so that it would be hardier and more sustainable in harsh environments unlike the natural occurring microbes.
In the end the formula was not just a great industrial strength soap that could clean almost anything but it could also biodegrade petroleum products and the hydrocarbons associated to them.
We found the formula being used by remediation companies and thought it should be made available to everyone to clean up a wide variety of problems in a vast range of surfaces.
Some Examples Of How Petro Buster Can Be Used:
1) Remove furnace oil and subsequent stains from driveways, basements, parking lots, soil, etc.
2) Remediation of petroleum spills in the ground and the water
3) Remove petroleum based grease from vehicles, fuel pumps, equipment without affecting paint colours.
4) Remove petroleum based stains from fabrics like carpets, clothing etc, without effecting the colour or fabric.
5) Clean the bilge area of boats, removing not just the fuel but also the smell.

As a first response to a home oil tank springing a leak, you can pour this product on the spill as soon as it happens to reduce the impact of fuel in the environment and the insurance claim after. In most cases remediation companies would love to dig up your house and turn the cleanup into a million dollar job but in many cases if dealt with quickly you can avoid this type of situation.
In regards to using it on cleaning other surfaces like concrete, carpet, fabric etc., it is very simple to spray, scub and clean a wide variety of stains away as described above.
In the marina industry it can be used to quickly clean the hull of your boat. It can also be used to clean that nasty fuel mess and smell in your bilge area.
Petro Buster is an industrial strength concentrated and needs water added to it before using it. When water is added, it rehydrates the microbes and they change from being dormant to an active state ready to work on your cleaning requirements. In many cases you don’t need the microbes at all and the soap itself with the enzymes does the job depending on what you are ceaning.
When Petro Buster breaks down after it is finished working it turns into water, oxygen and carbon dioxide leaving nothing behind.
