How to use Petro Buster to Remove Fuel Smell From Your Basement, Property, Shop, Vehicle or Other Locations.
How To Remove Fuel Smell from Concrete:
- Verify amount needed by estimating how much water would cover your area effected. Generally it requires at least 1 gallon of mix for each 10SqFt of Concrete.
- Dilute 1 part Petro Buster with 4 parts water
- Pour liberally on to Oil stain on Concrete
- Scrub firmly with stiff bristle brush until it starts foaming
- Keep scrubbing until foam turns brown. That is the surface Oil being removed from the Concrete
- Rinse away with fresh water
- Repeat 1 to 4 above and then let the product dry in Concrete
- You should notice the fuel smell go away almost immediately if you have treated everywhere the fuel went
- You can wet the area with water to re-activate the Petro Buster and you can ad more Petro Buster if needed and continue this process until clean
How To Remove Fuel Smell from Soil:
- Verify amount needed by estimating how much fuel such as Diesel, Heating Oil or Gasoline was lost in the Soil
- If you dilute 1 part Petro Buster with 4 parts water, this 4:1 mix will treat up to the same amount of Fuel you are remediating
- Pour liberally on Soil saturating it well
- Let sit for a day at surface level
- Introduce large amounts of water either by hose or if you receive a lot of rain, even better
- Petro Buster makes the fuel water soluble and when you introduce a large amount of water it will dilute it to trace PPM and dispurse with the microbes finishing the job.
- The smell should be gone almost immediately

My car unfortunately leaked transmission fluid while parked in my neighbour’s driveway – we had no idea it was leaking until we saw the stain. We were all quite dismayed with the situation. It is great to hear you had great results for removing the Petroleum Stain from the driveway. I suspect it was Asphalt and it does take a week or two to see the stain go away fully. It removes the Petroleum right away but brings up the Bitumen tar in the Asphalt very dark for a short time and then it fades back down to original shade of black or gray. My aunt incorrectly used hydrocarbon based pesticide “Snake Away” (naphthalene) and put it down on the concrete floor in the basement. She got out of there and, per the manufacturer, I set up water to spray on it but a month later it had not improved. I called the state, agricultural pesticide groups, and the manufacturer.
